A Message from the Founder
I am the founder of Reclaim Together, and I am a survivor of domestic abuse.
For safety reasons, I am keeping my identity private-but my story, my pain, and my determination are here with you.
When I finally found the strength to leave my abusive relationship, I was shattered. I received incredible help from the Police, Domestic Abuse Helplines, Women’s Aid and NHS. Yet there was something missing-someone to simply listen, to truly understand, to stand beside me so I would not feel so unbearably alone.
The isolation during those months of hiding in fear was almost as crushing as the abuse itself. I had been stripped of all friendships and connections, and when everything collapsed, I had no one to call, no one to lean on, no one to share my grief or my small moments of hope. I was battling not just the scars of abuse, but the deep ache of loneliness.
I searched everywhere-for communities, for support groups, for a safe place to speak-and found nothing that could fill that silence. That is why I created Reclaim Together: to be that missing piece. To be that friend you really need right now who understands without judgment. To be the listener when the world feels deaf. To make sure no woman ever feels as alone as I did.
I know the crushing weight of being degraded, humiliated and psychologically abused. I know the torment of trying to rebuild when the pieces feel too broken to fit. And I want you to know-you are not alone anymore.
This is our place.
This is where our friendship begins.
